According to ESPN it appears as if the Los Angeles Dodgers will be vindicated from the ownership of the troubled Frank and Jamie McCourt. The McCourts highly publicized divorce has frozen the spending of the club, and has limited their ability to add top notch free agents over the last two post-seasons.
Selig announced that he will select someone to take over day-to-day operations of the club, and released a statement concerning his decision:
“The Dodgers have been one of the most prestigious franchises in all of sports, and we owe it to their legion of loyal fans to ensure that this club is being operated properly now and will be guided appropriately in the future.”
Selig’s decision on who will take over the Dodgers should be announced within the next several days.
There is no doubt McCourt will respond with some form of legal action, but until then the league’s decision will transform the Los Angeles Dodgers.
