Clayton Kershaw Appreciation Post

Clayton Kershaw is more than a man. He is more than a baseball player. Clayton Kershaw has become a symbol for all that is good in the hearts of so many Dodgers fans. He is becoming an ideal that we all should strive to become.

Of course, the obvious reasoning for this is his amazing stats and numerous awards. According to Baseballreference.com, over his 9 years in the major leagues, Kersh has racked up 1,879 strikeouts, a 2.38 ERA, and 124 wins. His awards list is as long as the next guy, but some highlights are his 3 Cy Young awards, a 2011 National League Triple Crown award, and a 2014 National League MVP award to top it off. These are all the easy answers, so lets check out some other reasons why Clayton Kershaw deserves the title of being one of the most beloved Dodgers in franchise history.

Kershaw’s Challenge is a Christ-centered, others-focused organization. We exist to encourage people to use whatever God-given passion or talent they have to make a difference and give back to people in need. We want to empower people to use their spheres of influence to positively impact communities and to expand God’s Kingdom. We believe that God can transform at-risk children and neighborhoods through the benevolence and impact of others.

He’s Humble:

Kershaw is arguably one of the best pitchers to ever take the mound, yet you will never hear him brag or talk down on other players or teams!

Even after his no-hitter!

Kershaw makes his return with a 1.79 ERA and 145 strikeouts. His career is far from over, so expect new reasons for many years to come!
