During the offseason, Clayton Kershaw is no stranger to dedicating his time to helping those in need as he’s done for multiple years through his foundation, Kershaw’s Challenge. Recently, Kershaw and A.J. Ellis paid a visit to Campo Las Palmas, the Los Angeles Dodgers-owned baseball camp in the Dominican Republic.

The duo toured the grounds and spoke with players on a variety of subjects — including Kershaw’s arsenal of pitches and pitch control, and what it takes to be a catcher at the Major League level. While the players were understandably thrilled with the opportunity to speak with Ellis and Kershaw, the roles were reversed for the two Dodgers as Ramon Martinez was also at the camp.

While the reach of Kershaw’s talent and accomplishments extends to the Dominican Republic and likely beyond, the reigning NL MVP displayed a new set of skills as he communicated with the group of players by speaking Spanish.

And of course given their dedication to preparation, Ellis and Kershaw managed to get a workout in with the 33-year-old catcher touching on the emphasis of using the winter months for offseason training.
