Dodger News: Wood’s MRI Results, Urias to Start vs Cubs
This past Tuesday, starting pitcher Alex Wood was placed on the 15-day disabled list for left posterior elbow soreness. His MRI was scheduled for yesterday in Los Angeles, leaving fans anticipating the results.
It was announced during last night’s Game 3 against the Cubs that he has a posterior impingement in his elbow, which will require about four weeks of rest. His elbow will be re-evaluated at the end of the resting period to see when he can get back on the mound.
Wood isn’t the only Dodger pitcher that is dealing with an injury, adding to the interruption of the rotation. Right-hander Kenta Maeda is resting a swollen hand. He was originally scheduled to start tonight against the Cubs, but has chosen to take an extra day to make sure he has enough time to fully heal.

When Wood was placed on the DL, management called 19-year-old Julio Urias back up from Triple-A. Urias is scheduled to start in today’s series finale against Cubs and will be debuting his brand new jersey.
