Dodgers Bluepen: Has Gonzo Awaken?

Adrian Gonzalez had an amazing game on Tuesday against the Brewers going 3-3 with an RBI and 2 runs! A game like this from Gonzalez wouldn’t be given two thoughts usually, but unfortunately he has been going through quite the slump!

AGon started out the year the way anybody would expect. In April, he had a solid .286 AVG, .371 OBP, and a .429 SLG. These numbers continued into May when he had a .312 AVG, .381 OBP, and a .409 SLG. However, no entering July, we can look back on his production in June and really see where the All-Star struggled.

In the month of June, Gonzalez produced poor numbers including a .216 AVG, .286 OBP, and a .307 SLG. Nobody could really get a grasp on what was going on with the always consistent Gonzo, but the past seven days have shown that he might be back. In the past seven days, Gonzo is hitting .278 with a .333 OBP and SLG.

Nobody is exactly sure what it could be that has given Gonzo this sudden resurgence. Maybe it was this awesome Charro outfit that he wore? Or maybe it was the couple of days off that he took?

Our very own Dodgers Bluepen took to his pen and drew what everybody was visualizing! As you can see by the drawing below, the hope is that Agon has awoken from his June slump.
