Dodgers Get Ready for Final Off Day Until May 26th

The Dodgers fell by a final score of 8-5 in Tampa Bay on Wednesday night after a lackluster pitching performance from Alex Wood. The left-hander went five innings and allowed four earned on six hits. There were some positives to take away from the two game series split, with the main one being that the offense finally came alive to score 15 runs over the two games.

The Dodgers are now 9-6 on the road and only 5-8 at home.

Looking ahead the Dodgers will travel to Toronto for a three game series over the weekend, which will kick off a 20 day-20 game stretch that could have a huge impact on the Dodgers run-up to the All-Star break.

Even though Toronto currently sits at 14-15 in the AL East, everyone knows how dangerous their offense can be and the Dodgers will have to rely on solid pitching to compete in the series.

One thing to look out for is a possible spot start from a pitcher down in the minors. Ross Stripling and Alex Wood would be the likely candidates to be skipped in the rotation due to their poor performances in their most recent starts. Zach Lee is a name that might be called up from Oklahoma City to supply some relief in either the rotation or in the pen.

Following Toronto, the Dodgers will return home for nine in a row, kicking off a four game set against the New York Mets on May 9th. The playoff re-match will surely evoke some memories of the Chase Utley ordeal from last October. It will be interesting to see if the Mets decide to retaliate in anyway.

The St. Louis Cardinals will come into town followed by a series with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, which is split two at home and two in Anaheim.

Towards the end of the month, the Dodgers will take a tough road trip to face the Mets for three games and then the Chicago Cubs for four games.

  1. Half of the Dodgers run production was on walks! No stinking offense. What’s a starting pitcher to do?

  2. That schedule looks brutal. We can’t hit and can’t ptcher very well. Why can’t we just play San Diego.it’s just not fair that we have to play these teams. What will happen when we  have to play real teams?
