Dodgers Front Office Confirms “on verge” of signing Manny!!

We just received a voice mail from the Dodger front office, confirming they’re “on the verge of signing Manny Ramirez.” I know you’re thinking, “how can we take you seriously? all you do is post jokes on this site.” Which isn’t exactly true, the information we joke about is as true as the rumors we find throughout the web. In this case, we’ve provided the proof for your own judgment.

Update (2/24/09 : 3:55pm PT):

Tony Jackson’s Blog from Daily News has done some inside work to determine their isn’t a deal “on the verge” of going down.

I still personally believe a deal has been agreed on, however Manny doesn’t want it announced until Friday, so he can have 1 more week off from Spring Training. Regardless of this rumor, It’s got my blood boiling for some Dodger Baseball!

Update (2/25/09):

ESPN posts a video of this voice mail message.

Ned Colletti responds.

That voicemail has already been confirmed to be true by various local L.A. sports radio personalities. Including Colin Cowherd/ESPN – http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=3934202 Good job dodgersnation.com Way to keep them honest! I haven’t heard one person mention the fact that they were being deceptive to get people to renew their season tickets. Even as a Dodgers fan, I think that’s pretty weak.
