Dodgers Have Rookies Dress Up As Superheroes (VIDEO)

[new_royalslider id=”50″] Carlos Frias started in place of Hyun-Jin Ryu Wednesday and couldn’t find a place to hide if he tried. Frias managed to pitch just 0.2 innings and was charged for eight runs on 10 hits.

Statistically speaking, it was one of the worst pitching performances in MLB history. The Colorado Rockies went on to soundly defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers in the series finale and after the game, Dodgers rookies were welcome to the Majors with some good-natured hazing.

Veteran relief pitcher Jamey Wright purchased superhero costumes for the rookies on the team to wear for the team’s flight to Chicago. Included in the cast of players turned superheroes was Joc Pederson as Captain America, and Carlos Frias and Pedro Baez as a Ninja Turtles.

While the right of passage followed a tough loss, the Dodgers have rebounded to win two consecutive games since.
