Dodgers Injury Update: Scott Van Slyke Placed On DL and Rich Hill Skips Bullpen Session
The Dodgers injury woes have not affected them as many thought that they would. The team is currently only one game behind the first place Giants, and have consistently been at around 2 for the past week. The team has sent a total of 26 different players to the disabled list this year, one being Scott Van Slyke.
Unfortunately, the Dodgers announced on Tuesday Van Slyke was placed on the 15-day disabled list due to irritation in his right wrist. Chris Taylor has been recalled to fill the void!

In other news, Rich Hill was supposed to throw a very important bullpen session on Tuesday to determine whether or not he can make the start on Friday. Weirdly, after playing catch and talking with some trainers, Hill did not end up throwing the bullpen session. If for whatever reason it is determined that he is not ready to start on Friday, then Ross Stripling will be called upon to make the start.
Looks like Rich Hill is packing it in after playing catch, talking with team trainers, and checking his finger blister. No 'pen today.

Rich Hill says he "feels good to go for Friday." Didn't throw off mound today as a precaution.

Stripling is lined up to start Friday if Rich Hill can not make that start. #Dodgers

Though Van Slyke’s presence will be missed in the lineup and off of the bench, he does not have the same potential impact as Rich Hill. The Dodgers are currently going through all of their recourses to find starting pitchers and are counting on Rich Hill to help lead the starting rotation. Hopefully Rich Hill’s blisters can heal soon because the Dodgers are in need of an impact starter right about now.
