Player of the Day – Julian Leon

Signed two years ago, Leon made his debut in 2013 with the Arizona League Dodgers, OPSing .739 in 26 games as a 17-year-old. This year, he’s with Ogden and has shown promise with the bat and behind the plate.

Through 18 games, Leon is hitting .328/.395/.493 with a pair of home runs, both coming in his past three games. Behind the dish, he blocks balls well and has thrown out a third of attempted base stealers. Just 18, Leon has a long way to go developmentally, but may have the most upside of any catcher in the Dodgers’ system.
