Dodgers Nation Week in Review: May 6 – May 12

51312-WR

The Dodgers had a great week that was just short of being phenomenal. They went 4-2 against the Cubs, Giants, and Rockies, hitting .286, scoring 28 runs and allowing just 12, posting a 2.17 ERA. Home runs this week include: Andre Ethier (7), Juan Rivera (2), Mark Ellis (1) and Juan Uribe (1). It was a bit odd for a week to have taken place with no Matt Kemp long-ball.

The team’s pythagorean theorem for the week’s performance shows a season-long projection of 113-49, a differential of +34 from last week, a pace you’d like to see them keep up.

Game Recaps:
Another meltdown by Javy Guerra would lead to another coughed away game, this time to the Cubs as the Dodgers fell 4-3.

A new era with Magic Johnson and GBM began with a bang, as the Dodgers stymied the Giants 9-1.

Breaks didn’t come their way in Game 2 though, as the Giants were able to double-up the Dodgers 2-1.

A worrysome start was overcome quickly as the Dodgers disposed of their rivals once again, 6-2.

The 49-year old Jamie Moyer was no match for the Dodgers on Friday night as they lit he and the Rockies up en route to a 7-3 victory.

A great performance by Aaron Harang aided the Dodgers to the point where Tony Gwynn, Jr. would drive in the second (and winning) run in a 2-1 victory.
