Dodgers Nation Wishes Zack Greinke A Happy 30th Birthday

It was last offseason that the Dodgers and starter Zack Greinke agreed on a six-year $147 million contract and he and Clayton Kershaw formed the most dominant 1-2 punch in baseball this season.

Greinke went 15-4 with a 2.63 ERA after missing the beginning portion of the season with a broken collarbone suffered in a brawl against the Padres in April. Today, Greinke turns 30 today and he did his part in the Dodgers postseason as he went 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA and had close to a 9:1 K/BB ratio.



The Dodgers seem to have the top three in their rotation set with Kershaw, Greinke and Hyun-Jin Ryu, but they’ll likely be in the market for another arm or two in the offseason.

Greinke will be with the Dodgers for at least the next five years and if 2013 was any indication, Dodger fans should be excited to have him at the top of the rotation. Happy birthday, Zack!
