If you don’t know what the Futures Game is, it’s a minor-league based game similar to the all-star game that displays the games top prospects. Last year, the Dodgers’ featured Jharel Cotton and Willie Calhoun. Cotton was later involved in the trade for Rich Hill.

Verdugo and Alvarez are both having terrific years and their time in the minors is likely coming to an end. Verdugo is batting an impressive .344 while being one of the younger players in Triple-A. Alvarez has given up a lot of earned runs with an ERA above 5. However, he has struck out 54 hitters in 51 innings and is regarded as the Dodgers top prospect by multiple prospect outlets.
With trade season coming soon, it will be interesting to see who the Dodgers’ are willing and ready to give up to contribute to a World Series driven team.
