Dodgers News: Alex Wood is 1st Dodger in 41 Years to Start 9-0

Alex Wood has undoubtedly been the Los Angeles Dodgers’ biggest pitching asset that is not named Clayton Kershaw so far in 2017.

On Friday night, Alex Wood delivered for the Dodgers yet again.

Wood went six innings and allowed one run on just two hits against San Diego. He managed to lower his earned run average all the way down to a minuscule 1.83.

Wood entered the game undefeated on the season with an 8-0 record. With a much deserved win after his six lockdown innings, Wood moved up to 9-0, becoming the first Dodger pitcher to do so in the last 41 years.

Over the course of Wood’s last eight starts, he has been the best pitcher in Major League Baseball.
