Dodgers News: Alex Wood to Start Against Reds on Saturday

After reports of Alex Wood expecting to return this weekend against the Cincinnati Reds, it has now been confirmed that he will take the mound on Saturday.

This will be Alex Wood’s first start since he shutout the Chicago Cubs over five innings on May 26.

Hill will be pitching Friday, followed by Wood and Ryu takes the Sunday game to complete the series against the Cincinnati Reds.

Alex Wood re-entering the rotation means that Kenta Maeda will be taking his talents to the Dodger bullpen, presumably as the second long relief man alongside Ross Stripling.

The inflammation in his SC joint forced Wood to miss only two starts.

He threw an extended bullpen session on Wednesday and was then cleared to make his way back to the Dodgers rotation.

Wood currently has a 6-0 record with a very low 1.69 ERA over the course of 48 innings pitched this season.
