Dodgers News And Rumors: Carl Crawford Uncertain For Australia Trip
The Los Angeles Dodgers are the in the final days at Camelback Ranch as the Opening Series is now just eight days away. Clayton Kershaw and Hyun-Jin Ryu have been tapped as the starters for the two games, but beyond that the pitching staff is in somewhat of a state of limbo. Also facing uncertainty for the trip to Australia is left fielder Carl Crawford.
Crawford, who has high expectations for himself in 2014, may not be on the flight to Australia as he’s expecting his first child with fiancé Evelyn Lozada. If Crawford is unable to make the trip, manager Don Mattingly could turn to Mike Baxter, Chone Figgins, Scott Van Slyke, or Joc Pederson, though he’s likely a long shot. Mattingly may have been leaning towards carrying more outfield options than normal as the Dodgers are permitted to travel with 30 players.
