It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp as his name has been in several trade rumors. Teams like the Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox and possibly Detroit Tigers have all had reported interest in the 29-year-old center fielder.
GM Ned Colletti reportedly reassured Kemp’s agent, Dave Stewart, that he won’t be traded this off-season, but that hasn’t stopped some from believing they could revisit trade talks in the spring. However, it was reported late last night that Kemp reportedly “ticked off” a Dodger official and that could be a reason for all the rumors.
Kemp is currently recovering from ankle and shoulder surgeries and many believe there’s no reason for the Dodgers to trade him when his value is at an all-time low. With four high-priced outfielders, many believe one will eventually be traded with Andre Ethier probably being the odd-man out if someone is moved.
For now, it doesn’t sound like the Dodgers are considering moving Kemp as he’s been under the microscope the entire winter.
