Dodgers News And Rumors: Could Andre Ethier Land With Boston?

AndreEthierThe Los Angeles Dodgers continue to remain quiet in the off-season, but rumors continue to swirl about potential moves they might make. They’re rumored to be pursuing starter Masahiro Tanaka, but it’s not certain how hard they’ll be pursuing him. The Dodgers also have too many high caliber outfielders and might consider unloading one before the beginning of the season.

As it stands right now, the odd man out seems to be Andre Ethier and it’s possible he finds anew address this season. The Boston Red Sox might be a team to watch since they’ve inquired previously about Matt Kemp and are in the market for an outfielder. Kemp’s name was being thrown around the Winter Meetings, but his ankle injury has drawn a lot of concern. Ethier had injury problems himself last season, but should be fully healthy by Spring Training.

Management has said they have no plans of trading any of the four outfielders, but if they receive something in return that’ll fill a need, it’s definitely possible. Finding playing time might be the primary reason to trade Ethier, but last year proved to be difficult due of multiple injuries, so having a comparable backup is a luxury the Dodgers can afford.
