With the Dodgers expected to pursue Masahiro Tanaka and David Price during the off-season, it was announced this morning that they have signed minor league pitcher, Fabio Martinez. The 23-year-old started his major league career with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and has spent the past two season with the Cleveland Indians.
Last season, Martinez had a 0-2 record with a 10.48 ERA while pitching as a converted reliever between A+ and AA. Throughout his minor league career, he holds a 18-17 record with a 4.55 ERA.
With the signings of Edinson Volquez and Carlos Marmol, the Dodgers feel very confident that they will be able to help these three prospects with their control issues. While the Dodgers will continue to add more pieces, Martinez could start the year in Rancho at A+ or AA at Chattanooga.
