Dodgers News And Rumors: Hanley Ramirez Loves Los Angeles, Dodgers
Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez turns 30-years-old tomorrow, but was busy celebrating his birthday tonight. Ramirez proved in 2013 that he can still be an All-Star shortstop after a turbulent departure from the Miami Marlins.
Playing through several injuries, Ramirez dealt with a fractured eighth rib after his first at-bat in Game 1 of the NLCS and did everything possible to make sure he could be in the lineup. Saying he “owed it to the city of LA”, he showed up early to Dodger Stadium to get injections and played with a restrictive vest the rest of the playoffs.
Like he and Yasiel Puig usually do, Ramirez kept Dodger fans updated on his birthday shenanigans via his Instagram account, posting pictures with family and friends as he celebrated. One of the pictures was of his birthday cake that had his number 13 and also had “L.A.” iced on it. It was just two weeks ago he teased Dodger fans suggesting that he was flying to LA with “Good News”, but his agent quickly refuted any suggestions an extension was close.
Still, it sounds like Ramirez has visions of finishing his career in Dodger Blue as he’s fully embraced the city.
