Prior to the Los Angeles Dodgers’ rubber match with the Colorado Rockies, manager Don Mattingly again discussed the critical comments he made at the end of the team’s 10-game homestand.

While Mattingly didn’t back down from his remarks, which he received agreement from Adrian Gonzalez, Matt Kemp and Hanley Ramirez, he did express his hope that they wouldn’t cause a divide within the team.

Mattingly did acknowledge as a manager, he will ultimately take the blame for losses, but furthered his comments with placing responsibility on the players to win in what he called a “players’ game.”
