With the Dodgers down 0-2 against the Cardinals, there were concerns with Hyu-Jin Ryu on the mound in pivotal Game 3. After a disastrous performance in his last start where he allowed four runs and six hits in only three-innings against the Braves, Ryu’s only concern was making quality pitches.
In the biggest game of his career, Ryu delivered, as he didn’t allow a hit until the fifth inning and held the Cardinals scoreless in his seven innings. While the strong pitching continued through three games, the Dodgers’ offense finally made an appearance in the NLCS. The Dodgers were able to score on a, RBI double by Adrian Gonzalez and RBI triple by Yasiel Puig. They were also able to add another run in the 8th inning on a run-scoring single by Hanley Ramirez.
The Dodgers kept their World Series hopes alive and will look to even up the NLCS on Tuesday at 5 p.m. PT.
