Dodgers News And Rumors: Scully Reminisces, Tanaka Posting Nears
The newly 86-year-old Dodger broadcaster Vin Scully reflected on making his dreams come true as he awaits his 65th season with the team in 2014. Scully told of his dream of being a sports announcer at age eight and later fulfilling that dream 15 years later at the age of 23.
The Dodger legend will be serving as the Grand Marshal in the upcoming Tournament of the Roses Parade.
Also, Japanese and MLB officials seems to be near a deal on a new posting agreement and it could be done soon. The two sides have reached a proposal of three different agreements and will likely have their decision within the next week.
With a deal, Japanese pitcher Masahiro Tanaka could be headed to the MLB and possibly the Dodgers, as he’s been expected to be coming overseas at the age of 25. The Dodgers have been named a frontrunner for the right-hander to join a rotation with Cy Young Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke, Hyun-Jin Ryu and Dan Haren.
