After a historic performance by Clayton Kershaw in Game 1, the Dodgers looked to take a commanding 2-0 series lead against the Atlanta Braves. Unfortunately, Don Mattingly’s decision to intentionally walk Reed Johnson with two outs to load the bases proved too much as the Dodgers lost 4-3 in Game 2 of the NLDS.
While the Dodgers offense wasted numerous opportunities to score, Hanley Ramirez was able to keep the game close as he hit a one-handed home run down the left field line in the 8th inning to bring Los Angeles within a run, 4-3. In the 9th inning, the Dodgers had an opportunity to possibly steal the game despite everything that occurred, but a bad call went against them as Dee Gordon was called out for two outs in the inning.
With the Dodgers able to get the split on the road, the team is optimistic and will look to close out the series as they head back to Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4.
