Dodgers News And Rumors: Yasiel Puig May Be Moved To Center Field
Matt Kemp was moved to right field for Monday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates and again Tuesday. He looked comfortable enough that Mattingly is now considering moving Puig to center. Due to Puig’s range and arm, it can be an advantage for the Dodgers defensively.
Los Angeles has had trouble this season finding a permanent solution in center field. Kemp started the year at the position and was moved to left field due to defensive struggles. Since then, the Dodgers have platooned Andre Ethier and Scott Van Slyke.
If Mattingly decides to move Puig to center and keep Kemp in right, it will result in Ethier returning to left field as part of a platoon with Carl Crawford.
