Dodgers News: Andre Ethier Injury Update

The Los Angeles Dodgers injury report received an update for outfielder Andre Ethier who has not played since March. Ethier will undergo further testing on his right leg next week to see if his fractured tibia has healed.

Ethier was injured after fouling a pitch off his right shin during a spring training game vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks. Ethier was originally expected to be activated sometime in June, still unclear if that timetable is still in play.

Kershaw News: Is Kershaw Carrying The Dodgers More Than Ever?

From Jack Baer, MLB.com writer,

Andre Ethier will receive another scan on his right leg in a week to see if the fractured tibia has healed. The outfielder is still wearing a brace on his lower leg and is up to bearing 25 percent of his weight on the team’s Ultra G machine, a device for cardiovascular, non-weight bearing activity.

“Until we get complete clearance that the bone is healed, we have to tread lightly,” said Manager Dave Roberts.

During spring training, Ethier was batting .435 (10-for-23) with a .652 slugging percentage and a .517 on-base mark. The Dodgers are currently in the middle of a 9-game home stand at Dodger Stadium, and will face the New York Mets on Thursday with Clayton Kershaw on the mound.
