Dodgers News: Andre Ethier Scratched From Lineup Against Mets

The Dodgers haven’t had the luxury of having all four of their outfielders healthy for any games this season. Matt Kemp and Carl Crawford have spent a lot of time on the DL as Kemp seems to be closing in on his return.

However, outfielder Andre Ethier has played in 114 of 117 games this season and while he hasn’t put up great numbers, he’s a steady presence in an ever-changing lineup.

While he was in the original lineup for tonight’s game, according to Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com Ethier’s been scratched from the lineup:

Ethier left last night’s game during a double switch and while nothing was reported after the game, there seems to be some lingering pain for ‘Dre. The Dodgers have given themselves a big enough cushion where it’s smart to let everyone get healthy while guys like Nick Punto and Skip Schumaker have filled in nicely.

So far this season, Ethier is hitting .267 with seven home runs and 41 RBIs as he’s played both right and center field. With a 38-8 record in their last 46 games, the Dodgers seem to step up when they lose a star in their lineup.

While the injury doesn’t sound too serious and the Dodgers having an off day on Thursday, it’s conceivable they could hold him out until they start a weekend series in Philadelphia. __________________________________________________________________________________________
