Dodgers News: Betting Odds From Bovada Have Dodgers 5th

Every year Bovada, which is one of the leading oddsmakers in the world, releases their moneyline odds on who the favorites to win the World Series are.

This year, as it stands, the team with the best odds to win happens to be the Chicago Cubs (+400). That’s not shocking. They just bolstered their rotation with the signing of John Lackey, as well as their lineup and defense with Jason Heyward and Ben Zobrist.

If you’re looking for where the Dodgers stand, you have to look a little further down. But not much further.

From oddsmaker Bovada:

Los Angeles Dodgers +1400

As it stands, the Dodgers are tied with the Washington Nationals for the fifth best odds to win a title. The only four teams ahead of them are the aforementioned Cubs, the San Francisco Giants (+700), the Boston Red Sox (+1000), and the New York Mets (+1000).

The Giants one is a little odd. It seems like Bovada is banking on that “Even Year Magic” stuff that the Giants have going on, so you can sort of understand it but it also is a little out of left field.

The two teams with the worst odds are the Atlanta Braves and Colorado Rockies, each coming in at +15,000 on the moneyline. Basically, if you put down $100 on the Braves to win the World Series and they manage to do it, you win $15,000. Not too bad.

A little shockingly, the Dodgers come in ahead of the duo at +1600, which consists of the Toronto Blue Jays and Kansas City Royals.

I guess we’ll just have to see how everything unfolds. But, for now, Bovada has the Dodgers in a tie for the fourth best odds in the National League, and in a tie for the fifth best odds to win the title.
