Dodgers News: Brandon Morrow Recalled, Brock Stewart Optioned

The Dodgers have officially optioned Brock Stewart to the Oklahoma City Dodgers, recalling Brandon Morrow in his place.

Brock Stewart was only recalled for one game and he did quite a good job when they needed him. He tossed three scoreless innings and received the save against the Mets on Monday night.

Morrow looks like he will be receiving a genuine look as a possible permanent part of the MLB rotation during this stint. With Fields being optioned and the continued struggles of Chris Hatcher, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Morrow come in and be tested in a few high leverage situations.

Brandon Morrow could possibly be the deciding factor in how the Dodgers decide to head into the July trade deadline. If he can prove to be a reliable bridge from the starting pitcher to Kenley Jansen, the Dodgers might not need to look for another arm come the deadline.
