Dodgers News: Brian Wilson, Buster Posey Discuss First Interaction

It’s clear that Dodgers reliever Brian Wilson doesn’t want to talk about his time with the Giants and even about picking up the win in last night’s 10th inning walk off win.

Wilson pitched a scoreless 10th inning and got the W thanks to an Adrian Gonzalez walk off single as it was the first time he’d faced his former team since signing with the Dodgers in late July.

After last night’s game, Wilson again declined to speak to reporters according to Ken Gurnick and Austin Laymance of Dodgers.com:

I didn’t do anything, Wilson said as he walked past reporters on his way out of the clubhouse.

Since he’s been with the Dodgers, Wilson has allowed just one earned run in 7.2 innings and it was an odd sight seeing him wearing a Dodger jersey pitching against the Giants.

In his one inning, Wilson faced the heart of the Giants order in Marco Scutaro, Brandon Belt, former battery mate Buster Posey and Hunter Pence. Belt worked a one-out walk while Wilson retired Posey on a fly ball to Yasiel Puig and Hunter Pence grounded back to the mound.

After the game, Posey said facing his former teammate was fun and enjoyed the challenge:

It was fun, said Posey, who was Wilson’s batterymate with the Giants. You look forward to challenges against good pitchers and he’s one of them. Once the at-bat started, it felt like a normal at-bat.

It remains to be seen if Wilson ever decides to talk to the media about his time with the Giants, but it’s clear that he’s focused on winning games for his new team, the Dodgers.
