Dodgers News: Carl Crawford Thinks Dodgers Are Better Than Cardinals

With the World Series in full swing, the Los Angeles Dodgers offseason is in a holding pattern as major league baseball isn’t a fan of news being announced to overshadow what’s going on on the field.

One Dodger in particular, Carl Crawford, has been making the rounds doing interviews as he recently chimed in on the Don Mattingly situation and voiced his support for his manager. This morning, on the Jay Mohr show on AM 570 Radio, Crawford was asked if he thought the Dodgers were the better team in the NLCS against the Cardinals:

They beat us so I can’t say too much. If we had a chance to do it all over again, we could beat them. We lost the first two games, we weren’t ourselves. We think we’re the better team.

Crawford mentioned how Hanley Ramirez was dealing with a rib injury and wasn’t himself as the Dodgers lost in six games to the Cardinals. Games 1 and 2 were incredibly close, with the Dodgers dropping both games by a single run. In his first full season with the Dodgers, Crawford hit .283 with six home runs and 31 RBI as he dealt with a hamstring injury during the season.

However, during the playoffs, Crawford led the Dodgers with four home runs as he’ll look to come back stronger and better for the 2014 season. Mohr also asked Crawford which Dodger he’d pick to bring into a fight and he picked Juan Uribe as he could take two guys at a time as it’s clear Dodger players love Uribe in the clubhouse.

The NLCS was incredibly frustrating and obviously it’s not surprising that Crawford thinks the Dodgers are a better team, but knowing they were so close, still hurts.

  1. Dodgers came so close to winning the championships! Have to mention losing Hanleys stregnth.”‘mistakenly’ hit in first game vs Cards”. Then poor Kershaw was OVIOUSLY not himself in game 6!
