Dodgers News: Chase Utley Reportedly Took Discount to Return to Los Angeles
In what’s become a recurring theme this winter, a player took less money to play for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Kenley Jansen and Sergio Romo declined larger financial compensation from the Washington Nationals and Tampa Bay Rays, respectively, to play at Chavez Ravine. Chase Utley will reportedly complete the trio.
Utley is said to have taken less $ to return to dodgers. Geography plus excellent team obvs pluses for long beach native.

Utley takes a $2 million deal that grows if he meets conditions, per Heyman. Utley received little in comparison to his career, and is signing up to play the least amount he has over his career, but he wanted to be a Dodger.

The Dodgers lost an ace last offseason, but retained an above-average starter, a closer, a third baseman, a second baseman and brought in a setup man this go-around. Their signees all had one thing in common:
They valued being a Dodger over everything else, including the money.
Meet the Dodgers’ future second baseman: Willie Calhoun
Fantastic to have Utley back. I know that Seger and Utley worked together like a well-oiled machine and having him as a back-up is great for the Dodgers./// Now what about Puig ?
Exactly… What about him..??
