Dodgers News: Cody Bellinger Could Be Staying in L.A. For Good

Just days ago, Dave Roberts said that there was nothing that Cody Bellinger could do to stay with the club once everyone returned from their injuries. Since then, Cody Bellinger has pounded that statement into the dirt, being a key contributor to the Dodgers lineup every single night.

On Tuesday, Bellinger added to his short legacy in Dodger blue by adding two more hits to go along with three more RBI’s and two more runs scored.

His RBI’s came during the most important at-bat of the game, with the Dodgers down 4-1 against Giants’ starter Matt Moore.

Since his call-up, Cody Bellinger has been the catalyst in the Dodgers lineup, producing when needed a lot more often than not. The bottom line is that he is making a difference and it is obvious that the Dodgers are a better team with him on the field.

It seems as though Bellinger is finally starting to change the minds of the management, showing that he belongs as a member of the major league club, and it is hard to see a reason why he should be sent down.

Bellinger ended his night by saying that he believes he belongs in Los Angeles.

Dodgers activate Franklin Gutierrez

  1. The problem is, whose job does he take? With Joc and Gutierrez back, there really is no spot for him to get consistent at bats. He needs to play at least 5x a week or they risk stunting his growth as a player.

Maybe there will be an injury and things will take care of itself. It’s a good problem to have, too many good hitters and not enough spots. The Cubs and Dodgers are going to start petitioning for the DH w all the young hitters !

  2. Oh man , I’m attached to this kid .. as are many other Dodger fans.. keeping the kid and optioning Van Slyke was a good move .. anyways Keep the Kid!!

  3. We’ve pondered trading for Braun for several months. Why do that know when you have a stud ready to go now? He’s in the vain of Seager; baseball pedigree.

  4. Definitely belongs!!! Gonzales should start preparing for the bench splinters and retirement. Toles, Bellinger, Puig, Seager, Turner,Urias….. Just a ton of youngtalent to carry this team for quite sometime

  5. It’s time for Cody to play first, and Agon to take some pine. Thank you for all of the clutch hits, Agon, but it’s time to move on.
