Dodgers News: Corey Seager Sets Single-Season HR Record for Dodger Shortstops

Corey Seager has been arguably the most consistent part of the 2016 Dodgers, unless you count the consistency of injuries, of course. Regardless, he has been leading this team and making history all season long. Recently, he set the record for most doubles by a Dodger rookie. Well, the rookie sensation has done it again!

Corey Seager has set the record for most home runs in a single season by a Dodger shortstop! It came in the bottom of the 1st during Monday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Seager belted his 20th home run of the season and cemented his name in Dodger shortstop history.

I guess Corey Seager wasn’t satisfied with just 20 home runs on the season, however, because in the bottom of the 7th he hit his second of the game! That second home run not only increased the record he set earlier in the game by one, it also made Seager the Dodgers’ home run leader this season!

Unfortunately, the Giants beat the Miami Marlins on Monday, keeping the Dodgers one game behind them. The good news is that we have a franchise shortstop in Corey Seager leading us. With him at the helm of this team, the possibilities are endless. Congratulations, Corey Seager!
