Dodgers News: Don Mattingly Shuffles For Rotation For Yankees Series

The Dodgers boast one of the toughest schedules for the end of July and better part of August as they face teams with a winning record for four out of the next five series including this one with the Reds.

It’s no secret that they win a lot more games with Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke on the mound and thus manager Don Mattingly has juggled his rotation for the upcoming series with the Yankees.

The Dodgers PR Twitter account broke the news before today’s game:

Greinke was always schedule to pitch against the Yankees on Wednesday, but he’ll be pushed up a day with Kershaw being added as the new wrinkle.

The Yankees offense has been struggling since the Dodgers saw them last month in the Bronx as they tried to improve it with the trade for Alfonso Soriano.

Kershaw has been his normal dominant self after an eight inning masterpiece last night against the Reds while Greinke is pitching the best since signing with the Dodgers.

Due to the shuffle, Ricky Nolasco will now start the first game of the series against the Cubs in Wrigley Field followed by Hyun-Jin Ryu and Chris Capuano.

Slated to start for the Yankees are Andy Pettitte and Hiroki Kuroda as the Dodgers and Yankees split two games in mid-June at Yankee Stadium.
