Dodgers News: Grandal Likely To Miss Opening Day

Another hour, another injury update. For what it’s worth, I hate writing these as much as you probably hate reading them. We wrote about the Yasmani Grandal situation Friday, but the updates since then have not sounded good.

First, throughout the game Friday night, Rick Monday allude to Grandal multiple times in saying that he doesn’t think Grandal would be ready for Opening Day. Today, most voices echoed that sentiment.

So there you have it. This might lead to Austin Barnes’ chances of sticking on the major league roster for depth’s sake, which might be a positive. That said, Grandal is an absolutely vital piece of the Dodgers’ hopes to contend this year. Without him, well let’s just not think about it.

Anywho, the Dodgers are about to start so let’s hope we get a few more positive updates in the near future.
