Dodgers News: Ken Rosenthal Reports Brewers as Team Who Claimed Yasiel Puig

Yasiel Puig has finally been officially called up and will start in Right Field on Friday versus the San Diego Padres. Fans were worried that he was on his way out when an unknown team claimed Puig on waivers. Luckily, a deal was not made between the two teams and Yasiel Puig can help the team succeed in the postseason.

On Friday, Ken Rosenthal reported that the Milwaukee Brewers were the team to claim Yasiel Puig. Even with a player like Ryan Braun, the two teams could not come to a deal.

Also according to Rosenthal, the Dodgers have been interested in Ryan Braun. This year Braun is hitting .311 with 24 home runs and 74 RBIs. He is performing better than he has in the past 4 years, yet I guess it could not match Puig’s talent.

Yasiel Puig brings that x-factor to the Dodgers. He is young and sometimes chaotic, but his talent is undeniable and his future appears bright. Yasiel Puig is 25 whereas Ryan Braun is 32, even though he is hitting like he is in his prime. The Dodgers and the Brewers can always resume talks in the off-season, but something tells me that if Ryan Braun wasn’t enough for Puig now, he won’t be enough for Puig in 2 months.
