Dodgers News: List Of Dodger Free Agents Heading Into Offseason

The Dodgers head into the offseason with 12 free agents and will likely be in the market for a new second baseman, third baseman, bench and several bullpen pieces.

Matt Kemp, Carl Crawford, Adrian Gonzalez and Zack Greinke are just some of the Dodgers that are locked into long-term contracts as Ned Colletti and Stan Kasten are looking to sign Clayton Kershaw and Hanley Ramirez to long-term contracts over the winter.

Robinson Cano, Jhonny Peralta, Brian McCann and Cuban infielder Alexander Guerrero are some of the free agents available as the Dodgers look to improve upon their 92-70 2013 season.

Here’s a list of the 12 Dodgers free agents:

2B: Mark Ellis ($5.75 million club option, $1 million buyout)
2B/Utility: Skip Schumaker
3B: Juan Uribe
3B/Utility: Michael Young
3B/Utility: Nick Punto
Utility: Jerry Hairston Jr.
SP: Ricky Nolasco
SP: Chris Capuano ($8 million mutual option, $1 million buyout)
SP: Edinson Volquez
RP: Brian Wilson
RP: J.P. Howell
RP: Carlos Marmol

Marmol, Uribe and possibly Punto could be candidates to come back as Wilson will likely look for a closer job after an impressive end of the season with the Dodgers.

Nolasco was assumed to come back after his 8-1 start with the Dodgers, but a difficult September and rough NLCS Game 4 start likely put any return on hold. The free agent class at third base is weak as Peralta could be an option or the Dodgers could choose to sign Uribe to a one or two year deal until Corey Seager is ready to play third base.

Meanwhile, Marmol was acquired from the Cubs in early July and pitching coach Rick Honeycutt helped him regain some control in his short time working with him.

One thing is clear: the bench and bullpen could see considerable overhaul as management looks to build a more complete team as the Dodgers look to get back to the NLCS and beyond next season.
