Dodgers News: Maeda’s Career Day, Dodgers Begin Series vs. Giants and More | VIDEO
The Los Angeles Dodgers began their 4-game series versus the San Francisco Giants, pitcher Kenta Maeda closes out the San Diego Padres in a historic way and more!
Before the Dodgers headed up to San Francisco to face the Giants, they closed out the San Diego Padres in historic fashion following a 7-0 victory. The Dodgers scored 25 runs over three games, but that wasn’t the historic stat.

The Dodgers swept the Padres and Maeda put on quite a show in his MLB debut. He hit pretty much any career milestone you want to hit in your first game.
It was a day 1 resume teammate Kike Hernandez summarized perfectly.

It should be noted that in Maeda’s eight seasons playing in Japan he hit only two home runs. Yet, in just his second at bat in the majors he hits a home run. Hopefully it’s a sign of good things to come.
Unfortunately, the Dodgers luck in San Diego didn’t fly over in game 1 of a 4-game series vs the Giants.

However, the Dodgers can redeem themselves as they will face the Giants for the next three days, before hosting Zack Greinke and the Diamondbacks on April 12th for their home opener.
The Dodgers home opener prompted our twitter question of the week:
#DODGERSNATION POLL: With #OpeningDay behind us who are you most excited to see in the #Dodgers home opener? #MLB
— Dodgers Nation (@DodgersNation) April 5, 2016
Scully seemed to be the obvious choice:
@DodgersNation Knowing it's his last season, the only answer is Vin. The others will be there next year.

Special shoutout this week goes to Patricia Olsen aka BlueLAFan on twitter. Her father, Arnulfo Rodriguez, 87, recently passed away and was such a huge Dodgers fan his family gave him a Dodgers themed memorial service.
