Dodgers News: Matt Kemp Could Be Ready For MLB Games In 10 Days

The Matt Kemp rehab roller coaster took another turn today as Don Mattingly was told by medical director Stan Conte that Kemp could be game ready in 10 days.

After moving his rehab to the Dodgers spring training complex at Camelback Ranch, Kemp was supposedly shutdown indefinitely with yet another hamstring injury after trying to recover from a severely sprained ankle.

Talking to Bill Plunkett of the OC Register, Mattingly discussed where Kemp was in his rehab process:

It’s interesting to hear that Kemp could be on the verge of making his return, especially considering that Mattingly and Ned Colletti said time was almost running out for him to eventually return.

During his rehab with Class A Rancho Cucamonga, Kemp didn’t get a hit in five games as he complained about not feeling comfortable at the plate.

With Andre Ethier filling in admirably in center field and Yasiel Puig continuing to spark the team, Kemp wouldn’t necessarily assume a starting role as the Dodgers have done most of their damage without him in the lineup. Getting Kemp back in the lineup would be a huge boost to a Dodgers offense that hasn’t been clicking in the past few days, but it’ll be interesting to see when he could come back.
