Dodgers News: Matt Kemp Scratched With Left Ankle Soreness
The Dodgers caught a break when Andre Ethier went down with an ankle injury that Matt Kemp was right behind him and was activated from the DL just three days after he went down.
However, with Ethier struggling to get back onto the field, the Dodgers could ill afford to lose Kemp or anyone in the starting outfield. Yasiel Puig was out of the lineup tonight after fouling off two pitches on his left shin last night and now according to Pedro Moura of the OC Register, another outfielder was a late scratch:
Matt Kemp was scratched with left ankle soreness. Precautionary reasons, Dodgers say.

The Dodgers are saying he was scratched for precautionary reasons and with their playoff seeding wrapped up, it’s the right decision to make.
Since he’s been activated from the DL, Kemp is hitting .333 with three doubles, one home run and six RBIs as he’s looked more and more like his old self. I’m sure Don Mattingly will provide an update after the game as the Dodgers can ill afford to lose another outfielder.
