Dodgers News: Matt Kemp To The Disabled List With Shoulder Injury

It seems like Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp can’t catch a break this season as he’s heading back to the disabled list after straining his shoulder against the San Francisco Giants.

Kemp just returned to the lineup after a strained hamstring caused him to miss over a month, but hurt his shoulder in his first at-bat on Friday. Kemp broke the news to Dylan Hernandez of the LA Times after his name wasn’t in the lineup for tonight’s game against the Diamondbacks:

Kemp tested his shoulder ahead of tonight’s game and his injury will likely put a rest to the rumors of the Dodgers trading outfielder Andre Ethier.

Scott Van Slyke will be recalled to take Kemp’s spot on the active roster, but it’s another setback for the center fielder whose tried so hard to come back from both injuries. Kemp had off-season shoulder injury, which contributed to his early season power outage at the plate.

The Dodgers are playing their best baseball of the season in spite of Kemp not providing much offense, but it’s imperative to their second half surge that he stays on the DL until he’s completely healthy.
