Dodgers News: Outfielder Matt Kemp Walking Without A Limp

The Dodgers are on some kind of run as of late, as they continue to run away in the NL West. They’ve opened  up a 7.5 game lead over the Arizona Diamondbacks without two of their everyday lineup guys in Matt Kemp and Hanley Ramirez.

As the season progresses and we get closer to the playoffs, I think we all can agree that if the Dodgers want to play for a World Series Championship, they need both Ramirez and Kemp.

After hearing Hanley’s shoulder could possibly bother him for the rest of the year, the Dodgers have gotten some encouraging news. According to Mark Saxon of ESPN Los Angeles, Matt Kemp is walking without a limp and is taking early batting practice before Monday night’s game against the New York Mets:

Kemp has been on the disabled list for the vast majority of the season due to shoulder and hamstring reasons. One thing that can make Dodger fans smile is that since Kemp has been on the DL, there have been no setbacks and he’s progressed nicely up to this point.

Also what goes unnoticed is that there really is no need for the Dodgers to rush him back as they have a a nice cushion to work with in their lead in the N.L. West.

Getting his timing back and in game shape might take some time as Don Mattingly would love to have all four outfielders healthy at the same time.

  1. I am more concerned with the late night/early morning partying going on with the Dodgers younger players (kemp/Puig). Teach him the right way so he can have a long carreer. I know, boys will be boys!
