Dodgers News: Owners Looking to Sell a Portion of the Team

Are you the Dodgers number one fan? Has it always been your dream to own the team? Well, now may be your only chance! On Wednesday, Bloomberg dropped the news that the owners of the Dodgers are looking to sell a part of the team.

If you are not familiar with the current ownership of the Dodgers, here is a quick rundown to get you caught up to speed. The team was purchased by Guggenheim Baseball management in 2012 for around $2 billion. The team of owners consists of Mark Walter, Magic Johnson, Stan Kasten, Peter Guber, Bobby Patton, and Todd Boehly; however, your name could be on that list as well!

Stan Kasten told Bloomberg:

With continuing developments in the sports and entertainment industry, both domestically and internationally, we thought this might now be a good time to examine some of the opportunities more closely.

According to Bloomberg, the team will have Galatioto Sports Partners manage the sale, so they might be a good place to start if you’re interested; however, don’t expect to be alone.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have won the National League West Division for the past four seasons, and were just two games away from the World Series in 2016. On top of that, the team has welcomed over 3.7 million fans every season since 2013 according to Baseball Reference. Though this investment will likely be quite the expense, the Dodgers seem to be looking better and more profitable every season.

  1. Hopefully this isn’t a glimpse of things to come.. Profit taking and $$ pinching, instead of maybe buying a ‘ Bat ‘ and making a run for The WS title… !
