Pedro Baez is going to start the year on the DL, probably.

It appears that Pedro Baez is actually near the point where he will be able to pitch to hitters. The reason it looks like he will be starting the season on the disabled list is because he has not gotten any innings under his belt during the spring, so it would not be smart for the team to just throw him in to a regular season baseball game.

With just a week until the regular season, it is important for Baez to get a few innings in so that he is able to return to the team after a short disabled list stint.
