Dodgers News: Rich Hill Aggravates Blister, Leaves Sunday Start Early

Not the start Rich Hill was looking for.

Fresh off the 10-day disabled list, Hill exited his Sunday start after three innings with an aggravated blister on his left middle finger. That is the same blister that put him on the DL last week. Hill has struggled with blisters since before the Dodgers acquired him last July.

After leaving consecutive starts due to his blister, it’s fair to wonder if a longer DL stint is in Hill’s immediate future. If so, the Dodgers have a worthy replacement in Alex Wood.

Los Angeles knew there was risk in re-signing the injury plagued veteran. Hill made six starts for the team in 2016, and impressed enough to earn a $48 million deal.

Even with arguably the MLB’s best pitching depth, losing Hill for an extended period of time could prove costly for the Dodgers.

Logan Forsythe won’t need to go on the disabled list

  1. It’s becoming more evident that the Dodgers have made every wrong decision possible re Rich Hill. He’s useless and has no future Even in the BP.

    1. The Dodgers and Hill had all of the off season to try and correct this problem, and from all indications, nothing was accomplished! Unbelievable.
