Dodgers News: Rich Hill Back From Disabled List, Starts Tuesday

After an extended absence, Rich Hill is back on the mound for Los Angeles.

Hill will make his first start since April 16 Tuesday night in San Francisco. Hill has been on the DL with recurring blisters. Grant Dayton was optioned to free up a spot.

Hill has only thrown eight innings in 2017. He’s fresh off a three-year, $48 million extension this winter.

Hill was acquired from the Oakland A’s last trade deadline. Despite rumors of a return to his native Northeast, Hill enjoyed his time in California enough to stay. Unfortunately, that deal has yet to pay dividends.

While the on-field results are mostly impressive, Hill hasn’t consistently stayed healthy since coming to L.A. The Dodgers traded for him while he was on the DL with the same blisters plaguing him now. He’s had two DL stints this year, with the most recent taking him out for exactly a month.

The key for Hill, as always, will be finding a way to stay on the field. If he can do that, it’d be a huge boost to an uncertain Dodgers rotation.

Adrian Gonzalez and Logan Forsythe are also close to returning

  1. Is there any talk about trading or releasing Hatcher and Romo? I’m sure that there are better alternatives within the organization.
