Dodgers News: Rich Hill Has Been Placed On The Disabled List

The Dodgers are already known throughout Major League Baseball as being the specialist in injured players. It was the mass amounts of injuries in the pitching staff that forced the Dodgers to act at the trade deadline! Judgement aside, the front office acquired Oakland’s Rich Hill in hopes that he could help lead the starting rotation in Kershaw’s absence.

Unfortunately, they acquired Rich Hill while he was dealing with a blister on his finger which put him on the disabled list in Oakland. The hope was that he would be ready to pitch again and not have to join the Dodgers’ disabled list, but that hope was wrong.

Dodgers News: Yasiel Puig Officially Sent To The Minors

On Tuesday the Dodgers placed Rich Hill on the 15-day disabled list. Hill is now the 23rd Dodger this year to take a trip to the disabled list which is a National League record.

Rich Hill is dealing with a finger blister which should hopefully heal soon, even if it isn’t as soon as the club expected. The only bright side in this situation is that it is not like Clayton Kershaw’s injury where the club has no idea when he will be ready to return. The only thing to do now is hope that this blister heals quickly so that Hill can do what he was brought to Los Angeles to do: help lead this team to the postseason.

  1. The Dodgers are the only team I know of that trades for a player only to immediately place him on the 15 day DL. It’s been that kinda season. There’s no reason to think Kershaw will return this season either. So goes the saga.

  2. you have to be kidding my grandson could do a better job than dodger front office taking hill from oakland than have to put him on dl, what a joke
