  1. I have always liked Ryu..if he is healthy he can make a real difference in the rotation…….

  2. I’m with you  Mike. It seems that this year our staff will be just as I like, pitchers not throwers. It is a thing of beauty to see crafty hurlers who keep batters off balance. With Ryu, Maeda and Kazmir it gives me hope. The reason that I prefer them is that my experience is that they get into a better groove as the games progress.

  3. If Ryu comes back as he expects to, the Dodgers will have a better overall starting rotation.  They may no longer have the second ace, but I like Kershaw over anybody, and the last time I checked winning games with #3, #4, and #5 SP counts the same as a #2.  Plus with  Wood as #6, Urias and De Leon a late June or July call up if necessary, and a McCarthy return at break, the Dodgers have a lot of options they did not have last year.  They also have Zach Lee, Chris Anderson, Ian Thomas, Ross Stripling, Jharel Cotton, Mike Bolsinger, and Carlos Frias ready and willing (I am not sure about the able part).  But every team needs the back end of a rotation, and the Dodgers have a surplus, which they should package in trades before allowing them to devalue more with another year in the minors. Unless promoted or moved, they will quickly change their status from prospects to organizational depth.  Some will undoubtedly move to the pen for another option (C Anderson, Cotton, Stripling).

Then what to do with Frankie Montas…start of relief?
