Dodgers News & Rumors: Hyun-Jin Ryu Will Start Game 3 Of NLDS

The Dodgers are coming back to Los Angeles with the series tied 1-1. Game 2 was a heartbreaker and if a few call would have gone the other way, the Dodgers could easily be up 2-0. Now, the Dodgers will have to rely on Hyun-Jin Ryu and possibly Ricky Nolasco in games 3 and 4 at Dodger Stadium.

Ryu was battling some back issues at the end of the season and had a couple of his starts pushed back. After the Game 2 loss, Ken Gurnick of Dodgers.com reported that Ryu threw a bullpen session with a compression sleeve on his left elbow. The initial reports were a cause for concern because Ryu hadn’t thrown bullpen sessions in between starts during the regular season. However, Pedro Moura of the OC Register reported today that Ryu threw a bullpen session due to the long break in between starts and not because of an injury:

Ryu is feeling good and is scheduled to start Game 3, which is a relief to all Dodger fans and the organization. The Dodgers are going to need Ryu to continue his success from the regular season and help the Dodgers grab a 2-1 series lead.
